Understanding Texas Driver Education Requirements
In Texas, drivers under 18 must complete an approved driver education course, which includes classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel training, before obtaining a learner license and later a provisional license. Teens must also complete the Impact Texas Teen Drivers program. Adults aged 18 to 24 are required to complete an adult driver education course, while adults 25 and older may benefit from optional training. Options include commercial driving schools and parent-taught programs approved by the state.
