Why Renting a Car in Davie Makes Sense
Davie is a unique corner of South Florida. Known for its equestrian heritage, sprawling ranch properties, and the busy academic hub surrounding Nova Southeastern University and Broward College, the town blends small-town charm with suburban convenience. What it does not offer is a dense public transit grid, which is why most visitors and many residents rely on a car to get around.
With Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport roughly a twenty-minute drive away, Port Everglades close by, and quick access to Interstate 595, Florida's Turnpike, and Interstate 75, Davie is an ideal base for day trips to Fort Lauderdale beaches, the Everglades, Miami, or Palm Beach. Choosing the right rental company can make every one of those trips smoother.

How to Choose the Right Rental Company in Davie
Start by considering your itinerary. If you are flying into Fort Lauderdale and heading directly to Davie, airport locations offer the widest selection. If you live locally and need a replacement or weekend vehicle, a neighborhood branch can save time and airport fees. Always compare total costs, including taxes, toll programs, insurance, and fuel policies. South Florida roads, including Florida's Turnpike and the I-595 express lanes, rely heavily on electronic tolling, so understanding each company's toll pass program is essential.
Vehicle type matters as well. Summer rainstorms are frequent, and families often appreciate SUVs with more cargo space for beach gear or equestrian equipment. Travelers on a budget may prefer compact cars that are easier to park near campuses and shopping centers.
Car Rental Trends in South Florida
The rental industry in Broward County is evolving quickly. Contactless pickup, digital key technology, and app-based management are becoming standard. Electric vehicle availability is growing, supported by an expanding charging network across Davie, Plantation, and Fort Lauderdale. Peer-to-peer platforms are also reshaping expectations, pushing traditional companies to offer more flexible rental terms and subscription-style options.
Final Thoughts
Whether you are visiting a student at Nova Southeastern University, attending a rodeo at the Bergeron Rodeo Grounds, or exploring South Florida on a family vacation, Davie offers easy access to a strong lineup of rental providers. Enterprise and National stand out for service, Budget and Dollar for value, Sixt for premium style, and Turo for variety. Compare options, read the rental terms carefully, and choose the company that best fits your travel style and budget.
